About the orchestra

Our 50 musicians are drawn from the South Manchester region and beyond. We pride ourselves on our commitment to musical excellence for the enjoyment of our audiences. Concert-goers experience our unique venue too. Meticulously restored to its 1932 opening condition, the Grade II* listed Stockport Plaza is a building of international significance, being the last remaining art deco Super Cinema and Variety Theatre in the UK still trading in its original capacity. The Plaza's original Compton theatre organ features in our programming too.
